Space for Change
Took part in Space for Change 2024-25. A peer-learning programme for people working in the arts and creative sector hosted by the London youth charity A New Direction. Over 6 months, as a group we met and explored how to embed equity in creative career pathways for young people.
Resource: A beginner’s guide to Open Space Technology
Here is a resource we developed as a group based on Open Space Technology to facilitate non-hierarchical, inclusive and collaborative dialogues in group settings. This method can create enabling environments for young people to talk across levels of seniority and lived experience, promoting quick and judgement-free dialogue.
Open Space Technology as a way of promoting non-hierarchical dialogue in creative settings when working with young people or marginalised voices.

The 4 principles of Open Space Technology
Whoever comes are the right people
Whenever it starts is the right time
Whatever happens is the only thing that could have happened
When it’s over it’s over
The 1 law of Open Space Technology
The law of mobility, which we suggest reframing as ‘the right to come and go’.
If you find yourself in a situation where you are neither learning nor contributing to the conversation, then go somewhere you can. You don’t need to explain or excuse yourself.
